When my dear friend Jenna found out she was expecting a little girl, our friends put together a beautiful baby shower in a charming country house filled with the beauty of old world details. I had the honor of the creating the shower invitations whose starting point was simply flowers, especially roses.
On the day of the celebration, friends tucked raspberry and cherry blossom pink roses into vintage egg cups and baby blue glasses. Lemon leaves were plucked from their stems and nestled among the roses. Lemons were split open for lemonade, sliced thin and added to water pitchers. Fresh fruit, cheese, and bread were spread along thick planks of the farm table where we sat and shared stories over the long afternoon.
Jenna’s baby shower invitation was printed on thick, luxe paper and featured simple, elegant script and a vintage botanical illustration of a rose in a deep pink ink. Each invitation was sent with a vellum overlay, bound in pink thread and sealed with a gold wax fleur-de-lis seal. Vintage stamps in garnet, berry, and grenadine completed the color story.
A large bowl was placed in the center of the farm table filled with Thank You bundles for each guest. Fabric with various flower prints were tied with soft pink ribbon corded through a thank you card printed with matching vintage floral illustration.
I am overjoyed to have been part of such a joyous occasion with wonderful friends in the Santa Ynez Valley community and to have the honor to be a part of the details. So thankful for Jenna's friendship and thrilled to welcome her little girl into this beautiful world.
It's treasured memories like the ones made at Jenna's baby shower that remind us of the simple yet powerful pleasures of laughter, good conversation, and full bellies. A day to remind us that a house is complete when filled with flowers and friends.
