Michelle Castle, owner and founder of Honey Paper in Los Olivos, is thrilled to announce that the doors of The Giving Ink located at 1607 Mission Drive in the charming town of Solvang, California are open!
Growing & Sustaining Connections
Michelle's vision for The Giving Ink is a stationery store that will guide customers toward a richer, more fulfilled lifestyle through goods that encourage the growing and sustaining connections we make with each other. The shop will reflect her desire to connect the hearts of people through handwriting, illustrations, and a renewed interest in incorporating a more analog lifestyle through slower, more thoughtful forms of communication such as letter writing and journaling.
The Giving Ink’s customers will recognize the thoughtfully curated selection of goods from Honey Paper, including a unique selection of greeting cards, journals, pens, and fine paper goods as well as new additions such as gift items, art prints, and handcrafted jewelry. Michelle continues to create original, custom watercolor maps and illustrations inspired by her travels and connection to place. She hopes that through The Giving Ink her artwork will continue to connect hearts and inspire.
In addition to being a brick and mortar shop, The Giving Ink will have an online presence with resources including advice on writing professional and personal correspondence, etiquette guides, and finding find pen pals.
Grand Opening Celebration
Michelle and her staff welcome everyone to the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Party on Thursday, December 5 from 5pm-7pm. The celebration will include handcrafted lemonade from Los Olivos Lemons, fine cheeses from the recently opened Cailloux Cheese Shop and nurturing breads from The Good Seed. All of these local businesses produce thoughtfully crafted goods that support a quality, rich lifestyle through the senses.
Michelle hopes The Giving Ink becomes a haven for those looking to nurture and sustain deeper connections through the written word and beautiful objects that evoke a sense of place and time. In our new digital age we find ourselves longing for a way to slow down and truly feel, reflect on, and savor our experiences. The offerings at The Giving Ink have been selected with this in mind. Providing goods that encourage the balancing of busy lives with reflective practices such as letter writing, journaling, and sketching. It is in the small, quiet moments that a life is made.
