There can be evil in silence. Emotional abuse isn’t always harsh words. It can be ignoring someone, dismissing their feelings, or withholding communication until they begin to feel invisible. Often, the person causing the harm is warm, charming, and engaged with everyone else. Behind closed doors, the cruelty can look like nothing at all—and that is what makes it so difficult for others to see.
